Agri-Interest Committee

Promote ties between agriculture-based interests and the Pierre/Ft. Pierre business community. Plans the Ag Field Day, Ag Banquet and decides the recipients of the Ag Scholarship.

Each year, a scholarship is granted to a young man or woman attending TF Riggs and Stanley County High School who will be attending an accredited university, college, technical school or other recognized program and enrolled in an agricultural related field of study.

The Outstanding Farmer/Rancher of the Year award goes to an area individual that deserves recognition for their contributions and involvement specific to the agriculture industry.

Capital Area Networking

Capital Area Networking (CAN) is a group under the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce to encourage networking, information and referrals with local professionals and businesses. CAN meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 8:00 – 9:00 am.

We have a new meeting structure designed to maximize value:

  • Networking Time: Connect with your peers before the presentation! Bring your business cards!
  • Topic Presentation: Each meeting will cover a different topic with beneficial information that pertains to your business!
  • Post-Presentation Networking:  Continue the conversation and build relationship!

This is a Chamber Member Educational Benefit; non-members are permitted to 2 FREE sessions before we ask them or their business to consider becoming members!

Government Relations Committee

Ensures member businesses have a voice in the political process on a local, state and national level. Organizes events and meetings with elected officials such as Cracker barrels. DWU Learn and Earn Scholarship Committee

The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce has launched an annual scholarship for students in the DWU Learn & Earn Program in Pierre, which provides hands-on experience through paid internships with local businesses. This initiative supports student education, career development, and strengthens the local workforce. The Chamber encourages other organizations and businesses to contribute to this effort by supporting students or offering internships.
