Committee Information

Agri-Interest Committee

Promote ties between agriculture-based interests and the Pierre/Ft. Pierre business community. Plans the Ag Field Day, Ag Banquet and decides the recipients of the Ag Scholarship. Meets the first Wednesday of the month at 1pm from November – May.

Each year, a scholarship is granted to a young man or woman attending TF Riggs and Stanley County High School who will be attending an accredited university, college, technical school or other recognized program and enrolled in an agricultural related field of study.
The Outstanding Farmer/Rancher of the Year award goes to an area individual that deserves recognition for their contributions and involvement specific to the agriculture industry.

Ambassadors/Membership Committee

Welcomes new chamber members by attending ribbon cuttings, grand openings and represents the Chamber at Business After Hours events. Develops leads and follows up with potential chamber members. Works on member outreach and member retention programs. Meet the second Wednesday of the month at 11:30 a.m.

Events Committee

Plans and organizes events throughout the year such as Annual Celebration and Golf Tournament. Meets the second Monday of the month at 1:00 p.m.

Makes sure any event under the Chamber meets the mission & vision. Looks for opportunities to create non-dues revenue. Provides resources to encourage events in the community. Sub-committees include Leadercast, Chamber Golf Classic, Harley Raffle, Parade of Lights and Annual Celebration.

Government Relations Committee

Ensures member businesses have a voice in the political process on a local, state and national level. Organizes events and meetings with elected officials such as Cracker barrels. Plans candidate/issue forums prior to elections. Meets as needed.

Hospitality Committee

Develops strategies to bring visitors to the area, facilitates combined calendar of events, cross promotes area events and attractions, encourages improved customer service practices. Meets every second Tuesday of the month at 2:00 p.m.

Sports and Recreation Committee

Organization of sports and recreation enthusiasts to develop a yearly calendar of events, inventory the area’s sporting facilities and venues and looks for possible events and activities to recruit. Meets every third Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

Pierre Young Professionals

Organized to promote professional development, networking and social outlets in an effort to enhance the quality of life for young professionals working in Pierre. Meets the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm at rotating locations. Visit their website and Facebook page for more information.
