Pheasant hunting season officially opens in South Dakota on October 17, 2026, and Pierre is ready to welcome hunters from near and far. With excellent public hunting access, wide-open spaces, and local guides and outfitters available, Pierre is the perfect home base for your next pheasant hunting adventure. The season runs from October 17, 2026 – January 31, 2027.
