South Dakota Game, Fish
& Parks provides licenses
for both hunting and fishing!

South Dakota Game Fish & Parks holds
an annual free fishing weekend. During this
time, anyone may fish in South Dakota without
a license. The rest of the year, licenses are
required for residents and nonresidents.
Youth up to the age of 18 can fish without
a license, resident or non-resident.

South Dakota issues resident and non-
resident hunting licenses in game-specific
